Green Race

Our event staff is working hard to make every every area of the Bunny Dash Go Green race to be environmental friendly. Here is a list of items of the race that are "Going Green":

• Recycable Bibs
• Organic Food provided by Whole Foods Market Palatine
• One Waste Station for the event with clearly marked bins for Trash, Recycable and Compose Items.
• Goal to be close to 100% Online Registrations -- Decrease in paper registration
• All printing done on Recycable Paper
• "Leave No Trace"
• Only ONE bag of Trash
• Reusable Easter Eggs
• One-of-a-kind eco-friendly tote designed by Grammy award winning artist Sheryl Crow
• Less Paper Products
• NO Plastic Water Bottles
• Reusable Year-after-Year Signs and Banners
• Ride Share Program - Asking Participants to Car Pool, Walk, Bike or take Public Transportation
• Goal to increase and add green improvements every year [2010 - Eco-Certification with Council for Responsible Sport]

We will be giving an award to the "greenest" athelete in the race (i.e. took "green" transportation to get to the event, wearing green/sustainable race gear, registered online, recycled, etc.).

 

Clothing and Shoe Drive

We will be collecting and recycling old running shoes and race clothing by donating them to a charity organization. Please bring your old shoes and/or shirts during packet pick-up or day-of the race. Boxes will be clearly marked for the donated items.
